Guidelines

AHJ Says: No Building Permit Required

To satisfy the Signed Final Inspection Card requirement in M1…

Upload a signed affidavit stating that no permit is required for this address.

Here’s the process:

  1. In M1 click: Request Affidavit
  2. Enter a comment explaining why, and hit Submit
  3. HDM will request proof that no permit is needed
  4. Forward HDM the email from the AHJ stating that no permit is required* (more details next slide)
  5. HDM will send you a Final Permit Affidavit for you to sign and upload

With your affidavit request, include the following:

  1. A screenshot of this page showing the address and the city or county. https://ahjregistry.myorangebutton.com/#/ahj-search.
  2. Email confirmation or webpage from the city/county confirming the no-permit area



All non-permitted jobs:

  1. A Utility Bill is required
  2. No placeholder is accepted


Utility Says: No PTO Required for Storage

To satisfy the NEM (interconnection agreement) requirement in NTP:

Upload the building permit to NTP

OR

Upload email from the AHJ stating that no permit is required


To satisfy the PTO requirement:

Upload a signed PTO affidavit stating that no PTO is required for storage at this address.


Here’s the PTO affidavit process:
  1. In M1 click: Request Affidavit
  2. Enter a comment explaining why, and hit Submit
  3. HDM will request proof that no PTO is required
  4. Forward HDM the email from the utility stating that no PTO is required
  5. HDM will send you a PTO Affidavit for you to sign and upload


Add-on / Expansion

All Add-on systems REQUIRE:
  1. Building Permit: A new building permit must be submitted along with the NTP documents.
  2. 2D Plams must include spec sheets for applicable equipment (modules, inverters, battery & racking)
  3. Final Inspection: Must be completed and provided. Affidavits are not allowed.
  4. PTO (Permission to Operate) for the original system is required for M2 submission.
  5. Inverter Requirement: A dedicated new inverter is required unless the existing inverter was previously installed by the new installer.
  6. Production Waiver: If a new inverter is not installed, the homeowner must sign a production waiver.


System Replacement
All Replacement systems REQUIRE:
  1. Pictures of original system (that's being removed)
  2. New Building Permit to be submitted at NTP (no permit affidavit allowed)
  3. Must provide PTO for the original system to verify the installtion date (> 6 years). Can not substitute with a finaled permit.
  4. No Off-grid replacements are accepted
  5. No ground mount replacements accepted
  6. No replacement systems are allowed on systems that are less than six year sold.

No Utility Bill or Interconnection Agreement (NEM)

If you are unable to obtain a Utility Bill or an NEM/Interconnection Agreement from your customer you'll need to substitute the following docs

Upload the following:
  1. Issued Building Permit
  2. Service Request Confrimation (must include the service address and meter number)
Both docs are required for new construction jobs


No Splitting Large Storage Projects

Requirement:

Large storage deals can’t be split into 2 smaller systems.

The entire system needs to be on a single agreement.



No Off-Grid Deals

HDM is unable to fund off-grid deals at this time.





No Ground-Mount Deals

HDM is unable to fund ground-mount deals at this time.
